For two days in June, the bright and the beautiful, the good and the great, flocked to the 150-acre Norfolk Showground for Norfolk’s big celebration.

Following the success of 2022, Jarrold brought their pop-up Wine Bar to the attendees of the Royal Norfolk Show. Situated adjacent to the Grand Ring, the wine bar served a mouth-watering selection of platters and boards; all served with freshly baked artisan breads. The fish platter delighted lovers of local seafood and showcased the magnificent menu on offer from the instore restaurant The Bay, while the Norfolk Charcuterie and Cheese Board showed the extensive and absolutely delicious Jarrold Food Hall and Wine Bar with cheeses including White Lady, St Helena and Binham Blue.

The experience in the pop-up restaurant would not have been complete without the curated wine list filled with refreshing whites, harmonious roses, and floral reds. These were perfectly pairing for the ultimate summer dining experience.

The weather was beautifully balmy for Wednesday with guests eager to enjoy the Grand Ring programme comprising of the awe-inspiring display from the RAF Falcons, the elegant show jumping, and the musical delights of various performers. Friendships and connections were made as people were seated on communal tables and the sound of laughter and memory-making could be heard all around the space. For 2023, the wine bar was open later in line with the 7.30pm close of the Grand Ring programme with many enjoying a light supper before returning home.

Though the weather turned on Thursday morning with light rainfall, people’s spirits were not dampened. The sun soon broke through just in time for service to commence at 11am with guests eager to enjoy the ringside pop-up as the Showground quickly dried off. Sounds of ‘ohhh’ and ‘ahhh’ were heard from an array of tables as they enjoyed their superbly presented food and the exhilarating display by Royal Norfolk Show stalwart, the Bolddog Lings Motorcycle Display Team.
